A little repurposing does a body good.  I picked this little pot up last weekend, and it was a perfect fit for my neon ivy.  I love that it says popcorn around the circumference of the pot.  It fits so nicely in our tv room.

I found some peace this morning after our WOD, and wish everyone else the same.  It was great to have a few moments to myself, and to be able to watch the grass grow.

Full House…

This last week we hosted my parents, and my teenage niece and nephew all the way from Las Vegas.  We had a lot of fun.  Galloping Grace Youth Ranch is up and going so my oldest, and my niece spent most of the week there.  Both were able to get in some good riding time.

Our highlights of the week were getting to go to Walker’s Popcorn Company, and going to Old Town.

While everyone was here I was able to see some of the new dresses my mom picked up for her online shop.  Usually, I only get to see them online.  She has a really great eye for picking out the neatest stuff.  Everyone should check out her shop at Ruby Lane.  You can also follow her on twitter.  All in all it was a great visit from family, and we can’t wait until we see them again.

On a side note:  I have recently joined a book club and thought I would add the books we are reading as a widget on my blog.  Enjoy.

This last week marked a momentous occasion.  Top soil and compost was delivered, and spread about in the yard.  The sprinklers were put in, adjusted, and set on a timer.  We were able to add a few things for the girls to play with.  Most of all grass was planted.

Blurry…

Hello all,

It has been one crazy month around here.  Everything is still a little blurry.  To start  with homeschooling has been great fun this last month.  We have gone to three performances at Popejoy theater here in Albuquerque.  The first show of the month was Fancy Nancy and other story books.  It was a really sweet show, the cast acted out 6 children books.  The kids really liked it.  Especially, my Fancy Nancy obsessed middle child TR.  The second show we saw was ArcAttack.  That was a very fun show, too.  I just wish it was more of a music show.  They seemed to be trying out some new things with some robots.  I didn’t think it translated over very well.  The kids on the other hand LOVED it.  The last show we saw was BAM! The blue barrel show.  For all of us this was the show to see.  It was really entertaining, and fun.  I would go see them next time we have the chance.

Other than these preplanned shows we encountered a couple of extra surprises we enjoyed.  At the library one day was a professional storyteller.  His name was Indiana Bones.  AC was so excited, and got to spend a long time talking with him afterwards.  He was so nice, and really gave her a lot to think about.  She has decided that she wants to be a Librarian/Author/Storyteller.

The girls also surprised me because they have decided that now is the time that they want to learn how to knit.  They are just too cute.

Captain Awesome and I have been busy working out, and loving it.  I am really starting to see the difference.  All the kids were invited over to a friends for a sleepover, so we got to have a very rare date night.  I even bought a dress, and not only did I buy a dress the was no plus in the size at all.  It was awesome!  I am still doing my happy dance.

Captain Awesome has met some of his goals as well.  This first is he can now climb a rope.  It’s kind of a big deal.  He also competed in the Warrior Dash this weekend, and did a great job.  I only wish the parking attendants did an equally great job.  It took 2.5 hours to park, and 1.5 to leave.  It was a nightmare.

Happy Easter!

Our Easter was completely awesome and blessed.  We colored eggs.  The Easter Bunny brought cool stuff, and hid some eggs.  The kids dresses were super cute.  They even pulled out the ponchos I knitted them a couple of years ago to help take the cold edge off.  We went to church, and found some more lost eggs.  We ate a wonderful ham and many other yummies for lunch.  Finished it off with a viewing of the Passion to remind us of the real reason for this holiday.  I hope yours was as blessed as ours.

Quick Update…

This morning is moving quite swiftly.  We have tickets to a play this morning about my middle daughters favorite stories.  I will have to keep this brief.

1. Captain Awesome and I have made some serious progress on our backyard.  It was landscaped when we moved in a year ago, but we wanted a more family friendly backyard.  We have also had to hire some help.  There is only so many rocks you can move before you start going a little crazy.

2. My youngest has had the flu since Saturday. Enough said.

3. I have been down and out for two days with my endo.  I do think the pain is mostly over at this point until next time.

4.  I have been doing a little knitting.  It is the shawlette called ” Citron.”  I will save all the details of it for when I have more time.
